I like the idea of hoard things, I'm hearing the government can come and just confiscate your stuff if they feel like it. I believe will try that.

I have rat traps with steel fishing leaders and treble hooks. Works great for catching small game ... bird ... fish or keeping someone from following you. Perfect anti personal trap. 😊 ouch!

The tea is a good idea. I've never tried it, but I think it works whether it is pine, spruce, or fir. Guess I should go out and find a wild tree I can attack without anyone complaining! Thank you for the suggestion! I didn't know that packaged vitamin C didn't last long. I do know that anyone who takes 500 mg or 1,000 mg will need a bathroom!

Over the last couple days I canned 5 qts of milk, 3 pts of hamburger with onions, 3 pts of sausage paties.

What about dented cans. I know that yrs ago they said any dented cans weren't good because of the possiblity contaminates from the metal

We have a variety of ways to cook outdoors, i.e. camp stoves, a huge (think witches straight out of Shakespeare) cauldron, fire pits, smokers, and even an extra wood cookstove (it's a Franklin) in our summer kitchen. We have a large vintage cookstove inside as well. A very large collection of cast iron cookware and vintage kitchen gadgets that don't require electricity. We could literally go off-grid today if things went sideways.

Because our elected “leaders” are a failure at negotiating they’d prefer to start WWIII… I was close to being drafted for Vietnam. We messed up at first, because when we started back in 2019 or 18, we went out and bought up a bunch of stuff, then a year later, we started watching videos like Dr. E here and had to go back and re-do most everything... Now we do it as fun and to prepare.... So, our advice to anyone just starting? Don't jump headfirst into it like we did.

I would be interested to know just how many people don't have 3 days worth of food at home. I am not talking about the homeless. A food bank will usually provide their customers with 3 days worth of food. To me, 3 days worth of food would cover one brief snow storm.

Great video! After you mentioned the baby formula I went to WM site to check it out, I have no need for it. I was shocked at the prices of it. How the heck can (most) parents afford this? I was going to buy some (for just in case), I'll stick to protein powder. What a shame!

When talking about water 💧 always remember extra water to flush your toilet.Also use your dish water for flushing so u can save on water. And remember to not let the elbows dry up in your drains allowing sewer gases to come back up into your home. Also keeping curtains closed to keep the sun out in hot weather. Bad days are coming just keep calm and plan ahead. Oh don't forget your BIBLE .

If the can / food has blown or obviously bad, throw it. If you want further peace of mind. Just bring it up to heat. Place in a bowl. Place the bowl in a pressure cooker with a little hot water in the bottom and bring it up to pressure for at least 20 mins.

Whew! For a minute there I thought you were going to include old newspapers and broken down appliances. That would be crazy. BTW What you are advocating is called hoarding, and it's a sign of mental illness. Your list was a fairly accurate description of the contents of every thrift shop and yard sale on planet earth. It's a weird commentary on the kind of future some (many?) people envision for all of us.

Knowledge is also a great thing. Learn how to make fire, make an earth oven, filter water, build shelter etc etc etc
